Eat the Seasons
Tomatoes
Vine-ripened, locally-grown goodness... tomatoes are what we dream about all winter long.
Whether we top hot buttered toast with a few thick slices (with salt and a liberal sprinkling of freshly ground pepper), make a simple summer salad, use them in a pasta sauce, or eat one like an apple (hey, it’s not that crazy!) nothing says summer like a basket of ripe tomatoes.
The ones in our garden are still green. We’ve been watering them like crazy, hoping the dry summer isn’t going to take its toll, but we are filling up at the local market in the meantime. Our current favourite tomato dishes are all easy to pull together on a warm summer night.
Tell us, how do you like your tomatoes? Do you have a creative way to serve up this summer delight? If you have a great recipe to share, login and upload it right here! We'd love to hear all about it.
