Chia seed is considered as one of the new "superfoods". What I like the most about chia is that it forms a gel when soaked, adding texture to foods such as yogurt, smoothies and pudding. This recipe is perfect for the summer because you do not have to cook your oatmeal and you get to enjoy the goodness of oatmeal, Greek yogurt and chia seeds as one delish breakfast treat!

Ingredients

Servings: 4
Yield:
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1/2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 cup chopped or sliced fruits, e.g. banana, strawberry, blueberry, mango

Directions

  1. Add all the ingredients together in a mason jar / glass / bowl
  2. Mix well to make sure that the chia seeds are soaked
  3. Cover and allow the mixture to sit in the fridge overnight - it should be ready in the morning

Notes & Tips: Try any flavors you like! Some suggestions: blueberry (whole or puree) + strawberry, banana + strawberry, applesauce + cinnamon, mango + almond extract
