Ingredients

1 large onion, diced

2 lbs. lean ground beef

1 x 1.36L can of tomato juice

1 x 6 oz. can of tomato paste

1 x 6 oz. can of tomato sauce

1 tbsp dried parsley

1 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp dried basil

2 bay leaves

1 tsp dried oregano

1/2 tsp celery salt

small handful of celery leaves, chopped

1/2 tsp crushed chili peppers (optional)

Directions

Brown onion in large pot with a teaspoon of cooking oil. When the onions are softened, add ground beef and cook until browned.

Add remaining ingredients and stir well to combine. Simmer on low for 3-4 hours, stirring every hour or so, until thickened.
